Post-Production Scheduling/QC Systems

Role

Two innovative systems I developed for a popular television channel based in Qatar. The channel operates in a completely tapeless environment, with all production and post-production processes managed in-house. Shortly after the channel decided to bring its productions in-house, I was appointed as the Head of the Post Production division. My responsibilities included overseeing a team of 21 video editors, 3 online editors, and 3 sound designers, who collaborated with over 50 directors and producers from the production division.

Editbooking

EditBooking is an efficient online coordination system, tailored and built using open-source code, designed to allocate resources and employees effectively. Prior to implementing this system, the department relied on Microsoft Excel for coordination, and emails served as the primary means of communication. In contrast, EditBooking introduced a streamlined post-production reservation system, complete with intuitive dashboards and timely notifications, to enhance productivity.

The implementation of this system resulted in a significant improvement in efficiency and communication within the division. It effectively eliminated redundancies in the scheduling process, optimizing the overall workflow.

Post-Production Quality Control System

PPQC is a local network web-based quality control system which stores post-production quality control related information in a searchable database. It is also used to communicate offline edits to online and audio units when required.
